Specification Thermometers

I.P. Thermometers is British Standard . These Thermometers are made in accordance with the specifications of the INSTITUTE OF PETROLEUM (I.P.).  The Filling is mercury (Hg) except for scales below -38°C.

I.P. equivalent similar thermometers blue spirit filling These thermometers possess the same characteristics as IP thermometers, except for the filling liquid, which is a non toxic blue spirit (LB), and the length in some cases. 

U.S.A standardized thermometers

A.S.T.M is an American These thermometers are manufactured according to the specifications of
the American Society For Testing And Material (ASTM) standard The colour of the glass of these thermometers is standardized in yellow,
giving a much better reading than the white back. Delivered with a hook/
ring. The filling liquid is mercury for the ASTM , except for the scales belox -38°C, and the blue spirit

ASTM/I.P. GLASS THERMOMETER

We Brovet Lab Glass are the manufacturer of ASTM/IP glass
thermometers in India.

I.P. (INSTITUTE OF PETROLEUM) is a British standard.

These Brovet Lab Glass Thermometers possess the same
characteristics as I.P. thermometers, except for the filling liquid, and the
length in some cases.

The colour of the glass of these thermometers is
standardized in yellow, giving a much better reading than the white back with
non-toxic blue special liquid.

Clear, sharp graduation lines are printed and permanently
fused to the glass surface, making them resistant to all chemicals except
hydrofluoric acid and, to a lesser extent, hot caustic soda, because both
corrode glass.

Every I.P. thermometer has an
individual number printed on the back. This number is stocked in Brovet Lab Glass
Pvt Ltd data base and fully traceable to our official masters. Our official
masters are regularly controlled and are traceable in over 30 countries
worldwide.
The thermometer is fully marked on the back with the ASTM number, the purpose
and ASTM method.
If an I.P. has an equivalent ASTM, both standards are printed on the back of
instrument.
